
The Garden Gate Cocktail
The combination of fresh cucumber and mint, a citrusy white amaro and elderflower liqueur play together in this cocktail to refresh and revive on a warm summer day.

Ingredients
For the cocktail:
- 3 ounces vodka
- 1½ ounces white amaro (Amaricano Bianca preferred)
- 1½ ounces fresh lime juice
- 1 ounce elderflower liqueur
- ½ ounce chamomile simple syrup (see below)
- 2 ounces fresh cucumber, cut into small pieces
- Cucumber ribbons
- Fresh mint
For the chamomile simple syrup:
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup water
- 1 tablespoon dried chamomile blossoms
Instructions
For the cocktail:
- Add the cucumber pieces to a shaker, and muddle to express the juice. Crush and tear a few mint leaves and add to the shaker before pouring in the vodka, white amaro, lime juice, elderflower liqueur and chamomile simple syrup. Add ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
- Pour through a strainer into tumblers with fresh ice. Garnish with more mint and cucumber ribbons, if desired.
For the chamomile simple syrup:
- Mix the water and sugar in a small saucepan, and boil until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in the chamomile. Let steep for 10 minutes, then strain out blossoms. Let cool before use.
